The culmination of a two year residency at the National Gallery, George Shaw's My Back to Nature exhibition opened in May 2016 to great reviews and acclaim.
This is the catalogue to accompany Shaw's exhibition which returns to his favourite themes of trees, woodland and Tile Hill, the estate in Coventry where he grew up. Working almost exclusively in the model paint Humbrol paint, Shaw's paintings capture a particular time and mood which have struck a chord with audiences which is why is art work has been so well received.
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary art has been lucky enough to show George Shaw's work twice. The Sly and the Unseen Day in 2010 and as part of the Turner Prize in 2011 and there is still great interest in his work and prints ever since.
