Coming out of New York in 1981, Sonic Youth were part of a new wave of music called noise rock channeling their own interpretation of hardcore punk. Coming from the underground with some commercial success along the way they stayed together for over 30 years influencing a whole generation of music fans and bands. US designer Mike Joyce is a massive fan of both Sonic Youth and Swiss Typographical design and has combined the two in this stunning print based on a concert flyer from an actual gig Sonic Youth performed in 1986 in Kansas City, playing music from the EVOL album. The beautiful print evokes the energy and the anarchy of Sonic Youth and the alternative music scene of the time while the design is graphic, modern and amazing.
