History in the Making.
In 1974 US artist Judy Chicago started our on her most celebrated artwork, The Dinner Party. On its completion in 1979 it became one of the most important Feminist artworks, not only of its generation, but of the whole Feminist movement from then up until now. Chicago sets up a dinner party for 39 women in Western Culture (real and mythical) and gives them a place at the table. Roots of the Dinner Party takes a very in depth look at how the artwork was conceived and executed and how it has changed the way we look at both history and art.
