The Underworld by Mark Wallinger is a photographic print taken from Wallinger's video installation also called 'The Underworld' which was exhibited at the Laing Gallery in 2004.
The installation was composed of 21 video monitors faced inward which played the recording in a continuous loop. The monitors showed footage from an old BBC recording of Verdi’s Requium, also displayed upside down.
Gicléé print using archival inks on Somerset 250gsm velvet enhanced paper.
