Iraqi-American Michael Rakowitz looks to both countries of his heritage when producing his artwork and the conflict and trauma created by them.

Backstroke of the West explores ten of Rackowitz's most renowned multimedia projects alongside a new commission with a detailed look into his process and methods. A fascinating insight into an artist's practice working across broad social and cultural divides.
