The famous Kittiwake, Kitty the Toon, has been on lot's of adventures since her first novel outing but, as she gets older, it's time to return to Newcastle to settle down and have chicks of her own. But where can she nest in her home city as there are less and less breeding areas for the Kittiwakes to go? Well, thank goodness for BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (we say, anyway!) where there's enough room under the famous sign for Kitty to nest and feel safe to bring up her babies. This is a great local interest book for kids which is beautifully illustrated by Sarah Farooqi teaching them about the natural world and the importance of conservation.
