'You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. For me, it's a full time job' Jack Carter, Get Carter.
North east artist Ben Holland pays homage to the iconic Trinity Square Car Park in Gateshead which was knocked down in 2010. Best known for being featured in the Newcastle and Gatesead based Michael Caine underground crime caper Get Carter, the ill fated car park was built between 1962-69. Designed by Owen Luder, the concrete car park loomed over Gateshead town centre for many years, even after it was no longer safe to use, and was a controversial landmark between people who wanted redevelopment of the ailing town and others who thought it should be listed for its Brutalist and cinematic importance. However you feel about the now disappeared car park, there's no denying that this print from a pen and ink drawing is stunning to look at and would look amazing in an edgy home or cool office.
A3 Size giclee print signed by the artist. It is flat packed in a cellophane envelope.
