Presented in a monotone colour, these works capture strange new forms. Some familiar like a memory, they are pieced together like shadows over time. Their original meaning is lost and a new narrative begins. Welland likes to think of them as ideas for folk tales lost in time and re-found in the sand. Their meaning re-interpreted and remixed and the fragments are re-purposed for a new story...just like a collage.
