Carolina Caycedo makes work that addresses the commons, environmental justice, just energy transition and cultural and environmental biodiversity. Through her studio practice and fieldwork with communities impacted by large-scale infrastructure and other extraction projects, she invites viewers to consider the unsustainable pace of growth under capitalism and how we might embrace resistance and solidarity.
For Caycedo's first survey exhibition in Europe, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art presents an overview of her artistic practice over the past twenty years, alongside a new commission inspired by the River Tyne, which expands her ongoing River Book series. This poster features a detail of the work, Memories of theTyne Catchment, and has been produced to accompany the exhibition. It's is available to purchase both in BALTIC Shop online and in-store.
The poster is litho printed on silk 200 gsm paper and measures A2 (59.4 cm x 42 cm). It is unframed.
