Twelve months ago, we launched our first collaboration with INNSiDE Hotels to create a mini exhibition from a local artist in their stunning hotel on Newcastle Quayside. Having welcomed Jimmy Turrell, Sofia Barton and Ben Holland, next to showcase her talents is the wonderful north east based artist Zoe Cotterill. And if you love the architecture of Newcastle and Gateshead, beautiful prints made from water colour and ink paintings and - most importantly - going to the pub, then this latest exhibition will be perfect for you!

Artist Zoe Cotterill and Baltic's Sara Ley installing Zoe's works at INNSiDE Hotel, Newcastle
On Wednesday evening, Baltic colleagues headed over the river to Newcastle Quayside and INNSiDE Hotel to be met with a glass of Prosecco, some delightful canapes and Zoe and her friends, there to support her in the opening of her new exhibition. We spent a lovely couple of hours enjoying the art and ambience, rounding off with a toast and speech from Zoe herself. This was followed by our own Director of Development and Enterprise, G, who gave a warm speech about the feel of the work and the sense of place the prints evoked.

From the Ouseburn to Tynemouth to Whitley Bay, Zoe has captured the unique architecture, welcome and belonging the the north east provides whether it's a pint with a view at the Free Trade, a doughnut at Proven Goods at Hoult's Estate or a wander round a second book shop Keelrow Books on a Sunday afternoon.

Having curated a collection of prints that instill a sense of home, Zoe will be soon off to New Zealand for a month long visit around the north and south Islands. We wish her happy travels with confidence that she has left behind an exhibition to delight the visitors to the INNSiDE Hotel from north east and further afield.
