Introducing an exciting new partnership, Baltic has joined forces with INNSiDE to showcase local artistic talent within their beautiful hotel in this stunning location. Reflecting the hotel's commitment to celebrate local art, there is now a dedicated exhibition space within the hotel, located on the Newcastle Quayside, where guests can purchase original art and limited editions that will support local artists.
With four new exhibitions a year, the fifth partnership has launched with north east artist, Mark Adam.
Mark Adam, working under the name MarkMaker (MM), is a mixed media artist based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Combining a background in graphic design with hands-on making techniques, his work explores bold graphic forms with a focus on typography, through laser-cut artwork, spray-painted wood, layered materials and limited-edition prints.
Known for vibrant colour palettes and strong visual composition, MM creates pieces that sit between graphic design, street-inspired aesthetics and contemporary mixed media art. Each work is driven by a balance of precision and experimentation, blending digitally influenced design processes with tactile, handcrafted finishes.
Alongside original artworks, MM also produces print editions that translate the energy and visual impact of the larger pieces into accessible collectable works.
