Prism Arts

Based in Carlisle, Prism Arts is an inclusive Cumbrian arts organisation and charity established in 1987 to champion the creative vision and voices of learning disabled and neurodivergent
artists and performers. They offer supported artist studios, residencies and long-term programmes which spark creativity, build community and provide life-changing opportunities for LD/ND people.

Prism Arts aligns with the creative lineage of local trailblazers, helping to bridge the gap between contemporary art and underrepresented community narratives. Supported Studios such as Prism Arts are a vital link between contemporary art and the most marginalised people in our communities. These relationships help to reframe the power dynamics and visibility for people who are often the least served in terms of culture and representation.

By purchasing items in Baltic Shop, you are supporting Prism Arts and the ambitions of underrepresented creatives to build their own legacy in the arts.
