Swissted is the brainchild of US designer Mike Joyce (who is not the drummer from The Smiths even though he may have used this connection in high school to chat to Goth girls). Joyce studied the distinctive Swiss Typographical motion graphic design in art school as well as being hugely influenced by his love of the alternative music scene from the 70's and 80's such as punk, hardcore metal and indie and has produced visually stunning graphic prints paying homage to concert flyers from actual gigs of the time. With heroes including Swiss Graphic designers Armin Hofman and Emile Ruder and alternative indie and punk legends such as the Pixies, Sonic Youth and Talking Heads Swissted prints are a tribute to the independent and anarchic spirit of punk as well as being beautiful pieces of artwork. Each design uses lower case Berthold Aksidenz-Grotesk not Helvetica and these concerts actually happened.
